Premium scattered diffusion by JOCAVI
Project the natural sound of the orchestra.
Fixed and portable acoustic shells for theatres, auditoriums and concert stages, conceived in the R&D labs of JOCAVI in Portugal.
Why an acoustic shell
On a conventional stage, the sound of the orchestra scatters and gets lost.
The sound an orchestra produces travels unevenly in every direction, depending on the instrument. Noise in the stage box and the absence of diffusing surfaces make it hard to project sound and voice into the hall.
A shell of diffusion panels, open towards the audience, channels that sound into the room. It can hang from the stage ceiling, stand on the floor around the musicians, or both.
The result: a higher natural sound level, a balanced diffusion across the whole spectrum, and far less need for microphones and loudspeakers that would colour the instruments and voices.

AS Portable
A shell that travels in its own flight cases.
120 × 120 cm modules ride in wheeled cases that become part of the structure. Two people set it up on the stage floor, then it goes back into storage.
Portable shells
AS Fixed
Ceiling and side modules, on motorised rigging.
Pre-programmed positions bring the shell down for concerts. When it's not in use, it rises into the stage ceiling, out of sight.
Fixed shells
“Not only we have more comfort but we have more attention to details, allowing us to work on the balance of the sound and find out where the problems are. Now, I wouldn't want to do a concert without it.”
