It is impossible to win a battle against a room with bad acoustics.

Acoustic comfort is fundamental for a musician or musical director. When a room works against them, there is little that musicians, maestros or sound technicians can do about it.

When conditions are excellent, the quality of the interpretation improves. The shell harmonises the sound and lets musicians hear each other clearly, so the performance feels pleasant and perfectly together. It also lets the maestro bring forward or gently hold back each group of instruments.

AS fixed shells

Rigged to the stage ceiling

Fixed shells — in all six diffuser families, from EFFECTFUSER to NEO 3Q — are made of side, back and ceiling modules, angled relative to each other according to the incidence towards the audience. They hang from duralumin and steel-cable structures and move on electric motors, with pre-programmed positions for the most common set-ups. When not in use they gather in the stage ceiling, completely unnoticed.

We design each fixed shell with ray-tracing simulation, the only way to predict the outcome, to ensure homogeneous scattering of acoustic energy and the resulting increase in the room's reverberation time.

Set up on the stage floor

Portable shells — DYNAMICFLOW, WOODFOIL, PLURA, DIAMOND and NEO 3Q — are built from four 120 × 120 cm modules mounted on a flight case. The case is part of the shell's structure, so there's nothing to store while it's in use, and two people are enough to install it.

The shell adapts to the number of musicians, the instrument groups and the stage area. It allows several configurations, easy access for musicians and instruments, and quick assembly. Afterwards it rolls away on its wheeled case.
